The National Student Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is an IU organization for graduate and undergraduate students interested in the study of communication and hearing disorders. In addition to preparing for graduate school and future careers, we focus on service to our community. The group meets once a month and provides opportunities for fundraising, community service, American Sign Language and other club collaborations. NSSLHA is the only official national student association recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

The Student Academy of Audiology is the national student organization of the American Academy of Audiology that serves as a collective voice for students and advances the rights, interests, and welfare of students pursuing careers in audiology. The SAA introduces students to lifelong involvement in activities that promote and advance the profession of audiology, and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy for the profession and the public we serve.

The Student Advisory Board (SAB) aims to keep students updated and engaged with new information and opportunities within the SLHS major. This is primarily achieved through the creation of the “Student Voice” newsletter that is published twice a semester and sent out to all SLHS undergraduate students. The Student Voice newsletter serves as a valuable resource that students can use to learn about SLHS events, faculty members, frequently asked questions, lab opportunities, and advice from SLHS students. Additionally, the SAB organizes events, often in collaboration with other SLHS clubs. These events encourage student involvement in opportunities such as research labs, minors, observations, and other clubs.
