Support for our community

The mission of our department is to serve the community by advancing innovative basic and applied research in communication sciences and disorders for the purpose of knowledge acquisition, student education, professional training, and clinical practice.

Our department is home to a Hearing Clinic, a Speech-Language Clinic, Assessment Clinics, a Preschool program, and several support groups. These resources are available to people of all ages.

IU Hearing Clinic

The services provided by the IU Hearing Clinic include audiometric testing, hearing screening, hearing conservation, hearing aid products and services, implantable device services, and help with assistive listening devices.

Speech-Language Clinic

We offer assessment, treatment, and therapy services designed to improve the communication skills of people of all ages whose lives are affected by speech and language disorders.

Additional programs & services

Preschool program

We conduct a special program for preschool-aged children designed to enhance their language learning—whether they are typically developing, learning English as a second language, or exhibiting communication delays.

Audiology services

Our audiology services are designed to improve the quality of life for people who experience hearing loss. We offer testing, assessment, and treatment recommendations.

Support groups

We provide support groups for individuals and their families who have been affected by aphasia, brain injury, and Parkinson’s Disease.

Deaf community resources

We are a resource for people who are part of the Deaf community.
