ASL Senior Lecturer, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences
ASL Senior Lecturer, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences
As an ASL lecturer, Debbie strives to maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning as well as encouraging to students. Employing more group-centered or partner-centered experiences allows students to learn through a more communicative approach than an instructor-centered approach does, and also promotes students individual expression. Debbie utilizes a humorous, welcoming demeanor with students and strives to empower students by supporting them with opportunities to develop independence and responsibility through an enjoyable learning process. Her goal is to get to know her students by being open, available, and positive. Debbie is committed to the ongoing process of becoming a better instructor and communicator, and feels flexibility is a priority when working with students. She is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere where learning is fun.
