Dr. Spencer directs the Speech Production, Imaging, and Neuroscience (SPIN) Lab. The lab studies behavioral and neural mechanisms underlying speech motor control in typical speakers and in disorders such as speech sound disorders and autism spectrum disorders. The SPIN Lab uses behavioral, acoustical, and imaging methods (ultrasound and fMRI) to study speech production.
