We are happy to announce that Dr. Rita Patel was awarded Fellow of The Association from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) this summer. Fellowship is one of the highest honors the Association bestows. To be awarded Fellow, the nominee must have made outstanding contributions to the discipline of communication sciences and disorders. Dr. Patel was awarded fellow based on outstanding contributions to research in the area of voice and voice disorders, excellent teaching of undergraduate and graduate students at IU, and numerous and significant service contributions to ASHA. This is very prestigious honor, and we congratulate Dr. Patel on this achievement! She will receive this award at the ASHA Convention in New Orleans this fall, and we look forward to celebrating with her. Congratulations Rita!
