Katelyn Urena (she/her) is a doctoral student in the department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences and the Program in Neuroscience at Indiana University Bloomington. Additionally, she is pursuing the combined PhD and clinical track in speech language pathology. Prior to joining IU, she completed her B.A in Psychology at the City University of New York Queens College. Her research interests are in aging and adult communication, specifically how hand gestures play a role in human cognition. She works under the guidance of Dr. Brielle Stark in the Neural Research Lab.
