Carey Smith is a PhD student in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences in the Speech Production Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Steven Lulich. Their primary research interests involve sensorimotor integration in the oropharynx and larynx to facilitate adaptation during swallowing, phonation, and breathing. They have worked as a medical speech pathologist and clinical instructor for seven years, focusing on interventions for swallowing and voice disorders.
