Matt Hopper is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. He works in the Speech Disfluency Lab with Dr. Julie Anderson. He received a double major B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and English Literature in 2020 from Wichita State University and his M.S. in Speech Language Pathology from Oklahoma State University in 2022. He has worked with preschool and school-age children as well adolescents in the school and clinic setting. His research interests include language abilities in kids who stutter, the development of temperament, emotion and cognitive processes in kids who do and do not stutter, and counseling intervention practices across child communication disorders. He is also interested in how these factors influence stuttering persistence and recovery.
