Ryan Anderson is a joint doctoral student in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and Cognitive Science. He started the Ph.D. program in 2016 after obtaining his bachelor’s degree with a focus in Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience at Indiana University Southeast. He works as a research assistant in the Auditory Physiology Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. William Shofner, and in the Applied Hearing Science Laboratory with Dr. Yi Shen. His research interests primarily include timbre psychoacoustics, interactions between timbre and pitch, and music cognition in spectrally degraded conditions such as the cochlear implant.
