Joe spent his childhood in the town of Cortland in upstate New York. He graduated from the New York State School for the Deaf (NYSSD) in Rome, New York and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Gallaudet University. Joe spent 10 years working at The Learning Center for Deaf Children in Framingham, Massachusetts, while simultaneously working towards a graduate degree from Boston University. Murray was offered a full scholarship to finish his Master of Science degree in Counseling, Deafness and Human Services from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and completed his degree in 1998. His masters degree program gave him the opportunity to complete an externship at California State University, Northridge. Mr. Murray has been an American Sign Language Instructor at Indiana University - Bloomington since 1999, and loves living and working in the state where most of his relatives were born and still call home. He resides in Bloomington, Indiana.
