Dr. Kidd's research interests include the perception of complex nonspeech sounds, speech perception, music perception, and individual differences in auditory abilities. He retired in May of 2017, but is still active in research. He serves as Principal Investigator on an NIH-funded research project examining the role of attentional entrainment in speech perception with participants ranging in age from 18 to 90. He is also a senior scientist at Communication Disorders Technology, Inc., where he is continuing his work with the National Hearing Test, a telephone-based speech-in-noise test, and helping to promote hearing health.
