Research in the Applied Hearing Science Lab aims:
- to understand the factors underlying individual differences among older adults in understanding speech in complex acoustic environments
- to develop modern assessment tools to enable efficient, model-based, adaptive diagnosis and prescription in audiology
- to identify cognitive mechanisms (e.g., attention, memory, etc.) underlying the complex task of auditory scene analysis
- to investigate the link between the physiological processes and perceptual consequences via mathematical modeling
