Brandon Merritt, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a doctoral student in the department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Indiana University. He works under the guidance of Dr. Tessa Bent in the IU Speech Perception Laboratory. His research examines the influence of gender expectations on speech perception. Prior to returning for doctoral study, Brandon worked as a clinical Speech-Language Pathologist for over 9 years in acute care, long-term acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings. He is former adjunct faculty at East Tennessee State University. When not working, Brandon enjoys spending time with his husband and pets, exercise, and watching scary movies.
